Split: 7"
Each band gives us two tracks, This Damn Town laying down “Lovesick and Stupid” and “Something Bad,” and Guilty Hearts rocking “I Learned My Lesson” and “Seven Days, Seven Ways.” The Guilty Hearts side has a great swamp blues feel calling to mind the Dutch combo Lo Lite. I can imagine being knifed in a back alley somewhere while these tunes play in the background. This Damn Town’s singer howls his way through their songs, giving them a creepy, I’m-about-to-get-hustled tone. A moody release that I’ll certainly be giving a few more spins. –benke (Sonico)
